This year marks the birth year of Guru Rinpochoe and it’s also the 400 years of Zhabdrung’s arrival to Bhutan. Thus the year is auspicious in welcoming the birth of HRH Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck. PICSA in collaboration with Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs is organizing a three day Peling Tshechu at Kuensel Phodrang, Thimphu. Indeed, this is the first of its kind here in the capital. The event is dedicated to HRH the Gyalsey.
Peling Tshechu will present various Chams (mask dances) that were visualized by the great Tertoen Pema Lingpa, a spiritual heir of Guru Rinpochoe. It is a very special and a unique festival which will also present Chams from the Dochula Druk Wangyal Tshechu. The event will take place from 2nd – 4th May, 2016.
